Overview

CygnetWest approached us to review the viability of hosting a series of markets within the centre to bring in more shoppers to this new centre.

We visited the centre and surveyed the area to work out how many stalls could be safely located there. Existing shops were checked to ensure stallholders would not have products that detracted from their sales. Facilities such as parking, toilets, pedestrian access, disabled facilities were assessed and listed on our map.

A proposed site map was produced, the dates were checked and confirmed so they work for the centre and do not clash with any other similar events in the area. From there council applications were lodged and the event went live on social media including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc.

Market Day

On the day the team were onsite early to make sure all was ready, stall holders were guided to their locations and were helped setting up gazebos, tables etc. After the event finished the stallholders were helped to packdown, safety load their cars and head off. A final review of the site to ensure all materials and waste was removed and it was left clean and tidy.

Outcome

Feedback from the manager at the supermarket was their checkouts were almost twice as busy as a normal day. The coffee shop stated they were cleaned out by mid-morning on some items. Other shops reports similar upticks in customers.
